Bharat Shah inspired character in Mahesh Bhatts Blood Money

Mahesh Bhatt's upcoming film Blood Money apparently has a character inspired by notable film financer and diamond merchant Bharat Shah, who was accused of being involved with gangster Chota Shakeel and sentenced to a year imprisonment. Blood Money, directed by newcomer Vishal Mahadkar is the story of a student who goes overseas with his wife and gets involved in the entire diamond marketing outfit and the underworld. At first, Mahesh Bhatt denied that his film has any direct connections with Bharat Shah but then he admitted that there is a character of a big film financier who is involved in the diamond trade and is accused of having connections with the underworld by the government. Bhatt however maintained that there are no direct references to Bharat Shah and his film is a work of fiction. The character inspired by Shah will be portrayed by newcomer Manish. Blood Money stars Kunal Khemu and Amrita Puri in lead roles and will release in March, 2012. Check out the video:
