Akshay Kumar to attend Khel Mahakumbh 2011 in Gujrat

Akshay Kumar, who is busy with the promotions of Desi Boyz which is ready to hit the theatres this week, met Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to ensure his support to the sports event Khel Mahakumbh, organised by the state government. "Akshay Kumar, who paid a courtesy visit to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, said that he will remain present on the inaugural function of Khel Mahakumbh-2011," an official statement said. The inaugural function will be held at Vadodara. Akshay has always been a supporter of sports and even has his own Karate Tournament was very impressed by planning of the event. "I am impressed by the far-sighted planning of the Gujarat CM, and efforts made by the government here to inculcate sportsman spirit amongst children and youths," he was quoted as saying in the release. Secretary for Youth and Cultural Activities department Bhagyesh Jha and Vikas Sahay of Sports Authority of India were also present at the meeting.
